Timeline

1970

Automated machinery for Sterile Injectables was introduced in India by German and American companies in the 1970's. At that time, the indigenous industry was still at a nascent stage and miles behind foreign competition. Imports ruled the markets for a number of years.

1988

The Late Shri N.R. Mevada founded N.K. Engineering Co. in 1988. From the very beginning, we stood apart by our responsiveness to feedback about what industry wanted, especially about reliability. We also studied and internationally accepted norms and guidelines in order to improve our products.

1991

Over time, we introduced greater automation into our products in order to save cost and time and to remove human intervention in sterile areas. This helped us increase productivity and reduce wastage on the client side. In the early 90's, N.K. Engineering Co. supplied several Sterile Filling Lines of lower output to top Indian companies. Our machines were of comparable quality and cost effective as compared to similar machines made by German and American companies.

1996

1996 was a watershed year for N. K. Engineering Co. We introduced Sterile Injectable Line of a higher output in the Indian market, which established us as one of the leading manufacturers of such machinery in the country. We were then able to enter the international markets slowly.

2000

Our turning point came in the year 2000 when we started N.K. Pharma Pvt Ltd - a pharmaceutical formulation unit. Our R&D team spent time and effort to design user-friendly machines. We also understood what an important role our machines played in sterile formulation units.

2005

Globalisation played an important role for formulation industries. It put the focus on the regulatory market for more profitability and expansions, resulting in the re-introduction of many imported brands. N.K.P. is challenging the growth of imported brands in India by developing comparative machines. Our excellent R&D team has improved the quality of machines, increased efficiency and reduced human intervention.
